Kids Class Arrangement and Rules
Arrangements and Rules
Class Schedule
- Classes are held once per week on a designated day and time
Tuition Fee Arrangements
- Tuition fees are set on a 12-month payment cycle (Jan-Dec) of 42 scheduled teaching weeks (If you start later during the year, you pay for the remaining months in the year).
- Holiday weeks are worked into our schedule.
- The monthly fee covers all 42 scheduled teaching weeks in the year, with holiday breaks already taken into account. Holiday schedule will be communicated in advance.
- Fees are payable monthly in advance, by the 1st of each month, reminders for late payments will be sent out on the 1st.
- Should payment be delayed, please arrange this directly with Varuska Art, as late payments have a direct impact on operations.
- Registration is free; however, payment for the first month is required upfront to secure your place.
- Classes are kept small and space is thus limited thus please make sure to pay your "registration/first month" fee as soon as possible as we work on a first come, first serve basis.
- Failure to make monthly payments without arrangement will result in no further tuition provided to your child.
- You may cancel the arrangement at any time should you wish to stop taking classes for whatever reason. Please communicate this with Varuska as soon as possible in order for her to fill your spot. Once invoice is sent (27th of every month), that invoice remains payable even if you cancel after the 27th. Thus please make sure to cancel before the 27th to avoid payment of the next month.
Missed & Cancelled Classes
- Classes missed or cancelled by the student are considered forfeited and are not guaranteed to be rescheduled.
- We do, however, understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and where possible, efforts will be made to accommodate a catch-up session.
- Please note it is not the responsibility of Varuska Art to arrange a catch-up session. Please request a date if you would like to catch-up on a class.
- Certain holiday weeks will be set out as weeks to catch up on missed classes.
- In the event that a class is cancelled by Varuska Art due to emergency or family responsibility, the class will either be rescheduled or the value of the missed class will be credited toward the following month’s fees.
Studio Etiquette
- Classes are scheduled one after the other thus please leave the studio as you found it for the next student.
- Place all equipment back in its original space, make sure it is clean. (aprons, water bowls, easels ect.)
- Please be mindful of your fellow students by keeping conversations respectful and non-disruptive.
- Guidance and feedback on artworks should ONLY be provided by the teacher.
- A positive and encouraging environment is essential-every student is on their own journey of learning and growth.
Class Structure & Duration
- Class duration varies based on your specified class. The first and last 5-10 minutes of each class is set out for set up and clean up.
- If you have reached a point where you can not continue working on your artwork, you are welcome to work on another artwork or to leave the class early. Please note that this time is then forfeited.
- No child is permitted to be dropped off more than 15 minutes before the class commences, and in the case that a child is dropped of earlier, there will be no supervision for that time. Please note that these timeslots between classes are the only time for us to answer calls, take toilet breaks ect.
Class Safety
- We focussed on getting a safe studio in order to create a relaxed creative environment thus note that we are in a fenced campus with certain security measures in place that help facilitate a safe environment however we are still in a public place thus please stay vigilant.
- For students that are under the age of 18, please make sure to communicate to Varuska if anybody other than the parent (that is known to Varuska) will be collecting them.
- Please note that children will need to go to the bathroom alone (if there are other kids in the class) thus try and accompany them before class.
- Students are not permitted to run outside while waiting for pickup.
Class discipline
Varuska Art focusses on teaching art and not life skills such as discipline thus no violence, bullying, vandalism or undisciplined behaviour will be tolerated. Varuska Art reserves the right to cancel classes to any student at any time should discipline become a problem.
