About Varuska

Varuska Denysschen grew up in a creative household where art, music, and imagination were part of everyday life. Inspired by her mother and grandmother, she developed a deep love for art from an early age and dreamed of one day turning that passion into a career.

Her journey began with Visual Arts in high school, where her dedication earned her a distinction in matric. She went on to study Jewellery Design and Manufacturing at the University of Johannesburg, where her talent and hard work were recognised with multiple distinctions and a Merit Award from PlatAfrica in 2013 for one of her platinum jewellery designs.

After completing her studies, Varuska returned to her first love—fine art—and began teaching Visual Arts to high school learners (Grades 10–12). Over five years, she shared her creativity and passion with her students, helping them grow as young artists.

In June 2021, Varuska took a bold step toward her dream of building her own creative space. She founded Varuska Art, where she now teaches art classes and workshops to both adults and children. Varuska has recently moved into a beautiful new studio at InsideOut, Centurion.

Today, she continues to evolve her artistic style, expanding her skills and exploring new mediums, while inspiring others to discover their own creativity. For Varuska, art is not just a profession—it’s a journey of growth, joy, and connection.

Most recently Varuska was named as an official PNA Colour Crew Ambassador for 2026 - She was chosen as part of a group of 15 Ambassadors out of hundreds of entrants throughout South-Africa and Namibia.
